Film London

Film London is capital's screen industries agency. When they needed legal protections against the unauthorised portrayal of member locations in AI-generated content, I was asked to help.

With increased concern around digital replicas and model training derived from on-location shoots, there was a pressing need to update location agreements and production guidance.

I developed AI-specific contractual templates for Film London locations to use as precedents in their negotiations with production companies and other screen sector professionals, and contributed to a sector-facing Code of Practice. The new provisions addressed digital capture, third-party tool use, training data restrictions, and ethical use standards — aiming to providing clarity and enforceability across varied production contexts.

The framework now serves as a model for other institutions seeking to align creative access with emerging digital risks, supporting cultural heritage and institutional trust in an age of generative content.
