Legals: AI, training, regulation, strategy, production workflows, media risk
It started with a single session: a one-off training on how AI tools intersect with production, legal risk, and real-world workflows for Unscripted TV. (Did you know that AI was used to help cast the contestants for Love Island?) Afterwards, the ScreenSkills team asked me to work with them behind the scenes: not just as a trainer, but as an advisor, helping shape how the UK’s screen sector builds AI literacy from the inside out.
I designed training materials and policy briefings tailored to the freelance context—addressing things like IP ownership in AI-assisted workflows, usage rights buried in platform terms, and how to navigate ambiguity in legacy contracts. I also developed original resources including an AI Tool Risk Matrix, production-specific training decks, and briefings aligned with the EU AI Act and UK broadcast compliance. These materials now form part of ScreenSkills’ long-term education strategy, helping creative workers future-proof their careers and participate more confidently in legal and commercial decisions. I continue to advise them as a strategic partner as the screen sector adapts to the next wave of AI transformation.
They called me “a dream to work with.” Honestly? The feeling’s mutual.
